NCAA Recruiting information

Most important things for a college coach when recruiting an athlete:

1. They want a kid that WANTS to attend their college and be on their team -- school pride and team pride matter a lot!  This translates to constant contact.  There is no being "annoying"-- call and email until you get through

2. They are interested in an athlete that is also a good teammate -- this ranks almost equal with your ability to do gymnastics

3. Compete -- they NEED to see you compete well.  There is no amount of video/youtube that can make up for your competitive season

Most important things for the athlete and parent:

1. Do you want to attend that school for its academics and campus-- this is more important than the gymnastics team itself

2. Have you chosen schools that are realistic -- a fully funded education at any school is worth its' weight in gold

3. Is scholarship athletics in college really for you? Understand the training and competition schedule... some athletes miss Thanksgiving and Christmas.....
